Project Waldberg Ed Pick Open link in new window
Project Waldberg is a Märklin model railroad. I choose Germany in the sixties as theme for the layout. The fictitious town of Waldberg plays a central role in the layout plan. The town is situated next to an important main line. Fast express trains and goods trains travel down the line. Every now and then a commuter train passes by and stops alongside one of the three curved platforms. Remarkable features of Project Waldberg are the old town, the big depot and the small harbour. Each of them has the typical atmosphere of the sixties.

Washington Northern Ed Pick Open link in new window
The Washington Northern is a freelanced HO scale model railroad set in the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State in the mid 1990s. A regional railroad centered in the fictitious large deep water port city of Port Andrews geographically located between the real cities of Port Angeles and Port Townsend on what is Discovery Bay on the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

The specific area I am modeling at this time is the Port Andrews Tideflats District. This version of the WN is a small switching layout in a spare bedroom of my new home. A former version housed in a 23' x 32' room depicting the Coast Subdivision in my old home was dismantled in 2005.

Layout Tours : N Scale

Model railroads in Germany Ed Pick Open link in new window
A huge urban dead end terminus station on a small 6,6 x 3,3 feet model train table? And, in addition, a continuous run for long trains? Seems to be an almost impossible undertaking at first. But when I came up in 2008 with this idea, room space, time and budget were short. So how to proceed? Doing the BIG Bluff was the answer! See the track plan for more details. Here the pictures and the "Making of"!

The website gives information about model railroading in Germany (manufacturers, scales) and features a 1:160 scale layout of the Munich Central Station.
