Indiana - Hi-Rail Modular Train Club Open link in new window
Griffith, IN - A Hi Rail Modular Train Club. Running scale equipment. The Hi-Rail Modular Train Club is a non-for-profit organization that was established in 2002. Our members are train enthusiasts who enjoy the realistic look of Hi-Rail ‘O’ scale railroad equipment and structures. With each member’s module and equipment, we create a realistic layout.

The layout measures 30 feet by 60 feet, with three main lines of Gargraves tracks, with Ross switches. The three main lines feature 120", 128", and 138" curves, to run the largest of engines. The layout is powered by a MTH Z4000 transformer, which supports MTH's DCS and Lionel's TMCC and Legacy systems.

Our club members enjoy putting on public shows and demonstrations in the South Suburban Chicago and Northwest Indiana areas.

Indiana - INDYFreemo HO scale modular club Open link in new window
Indianapolis, IN - FREEMO is for modelers who enjoy creating protypical scenes and operational layouts. It is possible to have a much larger layout to run your trains on then you might have the time, space or money to build all by yourself. If you get tired of a scene, sell it or give it to someone else and build something new. How well does that work with a non-standardized home layout?

Indiana - Maumee Valley Railroad Club Open link in new window
Harlan, IN - Five men who wanted to build interlocking modules to promote their love of model railroading founded the Maumee Valley Railroad club in the early 1990’s. For a time the club had a display in the former South Town Mall. The club has been seen at many events in the area including the club sponsored bi-annual swap meet, NMRA division 3 meet, the Great American Train show, the annual Train Fest at Science Central, and in 1999 attended the Muddy River Run. Over the years the modular display has changed, but the clubs mission and goals have remained the same.

Iowa - Central Iowa Railroad Club of Des Moines Open link in new window
Des Moines, IA - Central Iowa Railroad Club of Des Moines

CIRC started Jan 1st 1967, first State Fair layout began in 1984. Our current location/layout started in 2006. Current Mainline (upper deck with continuous run) is 392 ft. double track mainline - about 6.5 miles scale. Estimated full run from Chicago to Omaha when finished - 860 ft/14.3 miles scale or using lower deck continuous run - 980 ft./16.3 miles scale. Current turnout count at 213 (approaching old layout total of 247 turnouts) with more being built at a furious pace - check back for updates - more are in at this moment. No time to count all trackage yet - too busy building more, but with 5 major yards done and more to come the total track could exceed 10,000 feet or somewhere north of 160 scale miles! 3 helixs linking three decks in a layout 103 ft. 8 in. long by 19 ft wide. We have a replica of the Kate Shelley High Bridge as a major Iowa landmark. The current layout is using Digitrax DCC as a control platform.
