Badger Creek Lumber Company Pop Hot! Open link in new window
Welcome to my new Badger Creek lumber Company in 0n30, I have made two other 0n30 layouts since the Cooncreek & Tumbleweed Springs was first thought of. Always in the back of my mind was my old Badger Creek in H0 which was really the start of my logging days. The very first H0 Badger Creek was started late 1998 and was on the web in the year 2000..... Now, its on the web in 0n30 in 2007.

Eastern Loggers Model Railroad Club Pop Hot! Open link in new window
In 1981, Jerry Stangarity and John Burchnall founded the Eastern Loggers Model Railroad Club. The idea was to build a sectional layout based on the 13 book series, The Logging Railroad Era of Lumbering in Pennsylvania.

Adventures in Sn3 Modeling Open link in new window
I spent nearly two years trying to come up with a plan that captured the spirit of the Rio Grande Southern Railroad and the Ouray Branch of the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad. The layout will be a 2-level affair depicting the Rio Grande Southern from Ridgway to Vance Junction. From Vance Junction the branch line to Telluride will be modeled. The remainder of the RGS is represented by a hidden loop. The Ouray Branch of the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad sill also be included.

Albula & Landwater Railway Open link in new window
The Albula & Landwater Railway was founded in 1993 as a division of the the Westoenner Kleinbahn, which is my model railroad in european meter gauge = On39 3/8.

The reason for founding the A&L was, that I learned during my vacation, how cheap - for an german model railroader in On39 3/8, Switerzland prototype - american narrow gauge in O-scale is.

For my layout is only less material available, and rolling stock can only be bought as RTR-models in limity quantity. This models are very expensive, and can often only be used for collecting, not for operating an model railroad-layout.

Annie's Zoo Open link in new window
The Elsie City Zoo is a small model zoo 2 foot wide and 4 foot long. It's built in HO scale. HO is a scale of 1 foot on the model being 87 feet in the world I'm creating. So I had to build my zoo in a space 174 feet by 348 feet. It's not much space for a zoo!

My zoo has a Zoo Train. The Zoo Train runs on tracks that would be 30" apart if it were real. Since it's shrunk down 1/87th real size, it runs on tracks 0.3" wide. That, by happy chance, is the same width as N gauge tracks. So I can use some N gauge parts in my Zoo Train.

My zoo is part of the Elsies group. We call the zoo and the other bits of railroad 'modules', and each build one or two modules. We all agree on certain standards that let us connect our modules to each other. So a train can start on one person's module and travel to the next module. We get together at each other's homes and at public events and run our tiny trains.

Showcasing some of the finest Narrow Gauge layouts produced by Australian modellers. Some of these layouts are personal, home layouts and are rarely seen by the general public; others may be more well known on the exhibition scene, but they all share one thing in common - fine modelling in narrow gauge.

Bob Hughes Playing Trains Open link in new window
My model railway interests range from N gauge to Gn15, tending more towards narrow gauge in the larger scales, and usually in limited spaces but the FCPyF is being rebuilt as a single large layout instead of a conglomeration of smaller ones.

This website is intended as my diary but if you’d like to tag along for the ride please feel welcome. As the site develops it should show the progress of various railway modelling projects and layouts but, as you’ll see from the blog entries, my main interest lies with O scale narrow gauge modelling.
