Badger Creek Lumber Company Pop Hot! Open link in new window
Welcome to my new Badger Creek lumber Company in 0n30, I have made two other 0n30 layouts since the Cooncreek & Tumbleweed Springs was first thought of. Always in the back of my mind was my old Badger Creek in H0 which was really the start of my logging days. The very first H0 Badger Creek was started late 1998 and was on the web in the year 2000..... Now, its on the web in 0n30 in 2007.

Arcadia & Betsey River Ry. Open link in new window
Logging in the Pacific Northwest in HO Scale C. 1956. The tracks extend from Arcadia to Eagle Harbor, a distance of about 12 “smiles”. Along the way there is a truck-to-rail reload and a skyline operation with a hayrack for loading the company’s skeleton log cars.

There is also a branch line at Harbor Junction that extends the rails to Hill Camp and Camp 2 in the mountains above Eagle Harbor where two more sides supply the mill with logs. Located near Camp 2 is the Bottom Line Mine and the A&BR moves the mines ore and other freight between the mine and Arcadia.

At Eagle Harbor there is a landing where rafts of logs, cut on a nearby island, are loaded onto rail cars for the journey to the mill. Also located at Eagle Harbor is a branch line to Camp 3 and a railroad car ferry operation which creates bridge traffic for the A&BR between Eagle Harbor and the railroad interchange in Arcadia.

Chris' Model Railroad Corner Open link in new window
Modeling in larger scales (mostly 1:48 O-scale) since 2001, these days I am focused on smaller industrial short lines such as logging. The end result is larger rolling stock with good mass and incredible detail. The Climax shown opposite is a good example of one of these smaller locos.

Route to the Redwoods Open link in new window
Route to the Redwoods - Boone Morrison's HOn3 Journal. The saga begins many years ago when I was introduced to California narrow gauge, and the North Pacific Coast in particular, through the wonderful book Oil Lamps and Iron Ponies. The chapter on the NPC captured my imagination as I saw my home area through the lens of history. I was hooked. Now, more than forty years later, I am finally able to model a small piece of this wonderful little narrow gauge line and that project is what this Journal, Route to the Redwoods, is all about.

Sloat Lumber Co - Sn3 logging on a budget.. Open link in new window
This website is about modeling the logging industry and its connected railroads as it developed in the Pacific Northwest in the late 19th century. It is mainly a source of ideas, and I hope inspiration, as my own modeling is in its early stages. Since my modeling is on a strict budget the emphasis is on kitbashing opportunities etc. If you can afford PBL brass good for you, but you will not find it here.. by Lennart Elg
