Illinois - NorthWest N-Trak
Antioch, IL - NorthWest N-Trak is an N scale, modular model railroad club. Using the NTRAK, Inc. standards, members are able to easily assemble a large layout for a weekend of operation from small, individual components (generally two-foot by four-foot modules). In fact, our modules are compatible with others around the world.
Founded in 1993, the NorthWest N-Trak club exhibited four bare corner modules in that first year. Since then, we have completed over 35 club-owned and member-owned modules. There are currently over 50 members. We have an open admission policy and are actively seeking new members regardless of level of expertise.

Illinois - Northwest Trainmasters
Chicago, IL - The Northwest Trainmasters is a model railroad club that assembles HO scale layouts using modules. We display them at several places during the course of our season, mostly in the Chicago area. Our layouts are different than many because we build them to look and operate like the real thing. We build our layouts with modules of two styles. One style is the traditional double track NMRA format module. The second style we use is Free-Mo, which is a newer format that is predominantly single-track. By using the two module formats together, we get a lot of flexibility in what our layouts look like each time we set them up.

Illinois - Prairie Scale Model Railroaders
Lombard, IL - Prairie Scale Model Railroaders is an HO Scale model railroad club in Lombard, Illinois. What makes us different from most model railroad clubs is that while we have varied interests and skill-sets, we're primarily interested in prototype modeling and prototypical operations.
We occupy a 7,200 square foot space that, a few decades ago, once housed an 8-lane bowling alley. The size and shape of this space will ultimately allow us to build a railroad with a mainline run of roughly 2,000 feet, with broad, sweeping curves and passing sidings that will accommodate 40-50 car trains.

Illinois - Will County Model Railroad Association
Elwood, IL - We are focused on HO-scale model railroading and are actively building a modular in-club layout based on Free-mo for easy expansion and changes, to include new ideas from members, and to keep things fresh. We participated in the 2010 and 2012 Free-mo layouts at the National Train Show and do joint setups with local groups like the Northwest Train Masters and Bolingbrook Model Railroad Club. Our club is the main organizer for two major shows each year: Old Canal Days in Lockport (typically Father's Day weekend) with a 125 X 25' layout and for the Southland Model Railroad Show at Richards High School (in the fall) with a multi-club, 70 X 125' layout.
