Welcome to the ISLAND PACIFIC RAILROAD website. The website deals with my G Scale garden railroad located in the gardens out back of the house and with my N Scale layout inside. It is graphic intensive with many photographs and can be slow in loading but please be patient, the pictures are worth the wait.

The garden railroad has been undergoing expantion and improvements each year since inception and now has approximately 400 feet of track. This past year saw a new "old" trestle added and a number of new buildings in the village

Large Scale Trains and Garden Railroad, the Bikini & Flamingo Open link in new window
In 1990 I broke ground in the back yard to construct the Bikini & Flamingo RR. I love working in my garden in a bikini and collect pink yard flamingos, so the name seemed perfect!

Los Gatos Railroad Open link in new window
The Los Gatos Locos Railway is a “G gauge” railroad located in Converse, Texas and has been in operation since 2004.

The layout is constructed in a planter which is two feet high. The longest side is 95 feet while the largest cross section is 35 feet. The railroad has a natural 2.5% grade and a mainline just over 350 feet long. There are 65 turnouts on the layout, with 58 being remote controlled.

Trains are controlled via wireless handled throttles by Locolinc, by KeithCo, which uses a constant 18VDC track power and a received and sound in each loco.

The layout is designed for operations and uses RailOp software to generate switchlists.

Riverside, CA - The layout covers 1/3 of an acre in our backyard in Riverside, CA. G-Scale trains run over 3,200 feet of track. Up to 17 trains operate simultaneously over bridges, through numerous tunnels, around waterfalls, through scenic towns populated by miniature people. All of this set in the beauty of a meticulously maintained garden.

Also, watch 6 trains run on the indoor 22 X 32 foot HO railroad. This RxR features over 100 structures, all illuminated by miniatures lights. This room is temperature controlled for your pleasure.

This is Dave Goodson's outdoor layout in Seattle, WA. The outdoor railroad has 1150 feet total trackage, and is run on battery power and an RCS Radio Control system. The back fence is 180-185' across, and the railroad comes towards the front 50-60 feet from there.
